Licensed Therapist in Arizona

Life can bring circumstances we never expected to deal with. Therapy can help determine which supports are most helpful for you and allow you to feel empowered in how you move through life. It isn’t about ensuring nothing painful ever happens-it is about having the courage and strength to keep moving through as the inevitable bumps in life come to the surface while learning how to be present and capitalize on moments that bring joy. Therapy provides a safe space to explore difficult topics in a safe and trusted environment. As your therapist, I work collaboratively with you to support you in creating and building upon a life that feels authentic and empowering.

As a mom of a child living with a chronic disease, I understand the physical and emotional demands of managing health while still being able to participate in the activities and elements of life that an individual wants to be a part of, the overwhelm of trying to manage responsibilities while not feeling well (both mentally and physically), feeling isolated or misunderstood by peers, not knowing how to communicate wants and needs to friends, teachers, coworkers, bosses, etc, and the many more aspects that may come along with a seemingly invisible chronic disease diagnosis.

I recognize the importance of developing healthy self esteem related to body image.  I have experience with disordered eating and, using a lens of body positivity and acceptance to help individuals work to understand and accept their inherent value as human beings outside of appearance. My goal is for each individual to understand they are important and worthy even on days where they don’t love their bodies and to help them discover ways to care for themselves that come from a space of self respect and self worth.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
Brene Brown
“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows. It’s what the sunflowers do.”
